KS2: years 3-6 History workshop : A Tudor experience for schools
A Tudor Experience
Join the Royal Albert Memorial Museum's award winning education team for a Tudor experience at St Nicholas Priory.
It is 1602 and your children are invited by Master Nicholas Hurst to visit his townhouse in order to impress members of his household. He is recently married but not in good health and is drafting his will. Might he, perhaps, bequeath a small amount of money to a child of one of his close friends?
The whole day, including lunchtime, is played out entirely in role by the children, the accompanying adults and, of course, our staff. On arrival you will be introduced to the household and its members. The children will then set to work within the authentically furnished kitchen, parlour and chambers where they will try to impress and meet their challenge.
The visit culminates with the children performing for their hosts within a 'Masque'. They will have the opportunity to show off, for example, their singing, dancing and acting skills.
Written for Key Stage 2 but may be adapted for Key Stage 1.
Visit RAMM's School Workshops for full details and other workshops including Romans, Ancient Egypt, Art and more.
